The Perry High School Mock Trial Team finished as the top qualifier Monday night in the preliminary rounds of the Mock Trial Tournament.
The top eight in the 16-team tournament will move on to the quarterfinals March 14 at the Genesee County Courthouse. Only two of the remaining eight teams will survive Monday night and then face off in the finals at a later date.
Perry won both of its matches to finish 2-0, as did Pembroke, Batavia and Medina. Others that qualified to advance were: Attica, Dansville, Notre Dame and Oakfield-Alabama.
Perry's team consists of: Bethany Messe', Melissa Kirsop, Emily Grierson, Alicia Rast, Breasia McCrea, Brittany Wood, all are seniors; Laura Snell, Dan Davis, both are juniors; Morgan Milhollen, a sophomore; and Meghan Snell, Sam Matthews, Abby Parker, Madeleine Goulet, all are freshmen.
