The Perry Chess team had two wins Thursday, clinching their second division title in a row.
The Yellowjackets warmed up against Livonia with a 40 – 0 victory and then faced off against division rival Keshequa with an 11 game marathon match. The team came up victorious on 8 of 11 boards and a 136 to 51 win.
The team was led by Adam Sprenger, Merritt Smith, and Kinley Frazier all with two checkmate wins. Merritt continues his undefeated season with an 11 – 0 record. Sam Safford, Danny Davis, Austin Slusser, Daven Dickson, and Abe Hauser all had checkmates wins as well.
The team has one more match at Bloomfield and then the playoffs in April.
