Operation Spring Sweep arrests another eight on drug charges

The Wyoming County Drug Task Force (DTF) Operation Spring Sweep continues with the arrest of eight area residents on drug charges over the last several days. The arrests were made throughout the county and several additional investigations are continuing. 

“These arrests are a continuation of Operation Spring Sweep and are the culmination of investigations that took several months,” said Wyoming County Sheriff Gregory Rudolph.  “The opiate problem seen nationally and across the state is in Wyoming County.  The Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, the Drug Task Force and all the Law Enforcement agencies in Wyoming County are committed to aggressively investigate the possession and sales of illicit drugs.  We will do our enforcement part in curtailing the use and distribution of these highly addictive drugs.”

Michael J. CaseJohnney Shannon

Michael J. Case, 38, of Perry, was charged again with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. Case is accused of selling cocaine on a second occasion to an undercover agent in the Village of Warsaw, earlier this year. He was indicted again by a Wyoming County Grand Jury on these new charges and remains in Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail from the first indictment.

Johnney Shannon, 57, of Batavia, was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. Shannon allegedly sold heroin to an undercover agent on two occasions in the Village of Attica in December 2015. He was held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail and has since been released.

David T. RileyScott Sanders

David T. Riley, 33, Batavia, was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree. Riley is accused of selling heroin to an undercover agent on two occasions in the Village of Attica in December 2015. He is currently being held in the Genesee County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail on a similar heroin sale allegation in the City of Batavia. Bail was also set at $25,000 cash in Wyoming County.

Scott Sanders, 33, of Warsaw, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree. Sanders allegedly sold Tramadol to an undercover agent in October 2015 in the Village of Warsaw. He is currently being held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

Chadwick W. White, 35, of Warsaw, was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree. White allegedly sold more than 50 Lorazepam pills on two occasions to an undercover agent in October 2015 in the Village of Warsaw. He was being held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail and has since been released.

Jennifer J. Maggio, 31, of Leicester, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fourth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree. Maggio is accused of selling Suboxone to an undercover agent in January in the Village of Perry. She was committed to the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail and has since been released.

An 18-year-old female from the Town of Eagle, was charged with two counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and one count of endangering the welfare of a child. The Eagle resident is accused of selling Hydrocodone to an undercover agent on two occasions in November 2015 in the Village of Arcade. She is being held in the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.

Morgan M. Brown

Morgan M. Brown, 22, of Freedom, was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree. Brown allegedly sold Hydrocodone and Amphetamine/Dextroamphetamine (a stimulant) to undercover agents in the towns of Arcade and Yorkshire in 2015. She was arraigned in Wyoming County Court and was released. 

The DTF is an operational and investigative unit that has dedicated deputies and officers working together from the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office; the Arcade, Attica, Perry, and Warsaw police departments; and the Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office.
