Law and Order: Orren guilty of promoting pornography of a child

The following were in Wyoming County Court March 31 before Judge Michael Mohun.

Bradley Orren, who committed a crime in Silver Springs, waived indictment and pled guilty to promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child, a Class D felony; and two counts of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, both as Class E felonies. The case has been adjourned to June 30. Orren continues on pretrial release.

Melvin Miller, who allegedly committed a crime in Bennington, was in court for motions and had his case adjourned to April for a Huntley Hearing. A Huntley Hearing is a pretrial hearing in New York State and is requested for the purpose of reviewing the manner in which the police obtained statements from the defendant.

Shawna Crandall, who committed a crime in Castile, was sentenced to three years determinate prison with two years post release supervision and $80 in restitution. A determinate sentence is a jail or prison sentence that has a defined length and can't be changed by a parole board or other agency. Crandall was convicted of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a Class D felony.

Kathryn Mailloux, who committed a crime in Gainesville, pled guilty to aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle, a Class E felony; and endangering the welfare of a child. Mailloux was sentenced to one year interim probation. The case has been adjourned to March 23.

Kyle Burdick, who allegedly committed a crime in Java, had his case adjourned to April 14 for a Wade Hearing. The purpose of a Wade Hearing is to determine whether the eye witness’s identification of the defendant as the perpetrator of the crime is correct.

James Bumbarger, who committed a crime in Perry, pled guilty to criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a Class D felony; and attempted assault in the second degree, a Class E felony. The case has been adjourned to June 30.

Chastity Brace, who committed a crime in Warsaw, waived indictment and pled guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the fifth degree, a Class D felony; and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor. The case has been adjourned to May 5.

Jessalyn Tripp, who committed a crime in Warsaw, was sentenced to five years probation, license revocation, and a $1,000 fine. She was convicted of aggravated unlicensed operation n the first degree, a Class E felony; and driving while ability impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. 

Dain Kilian, who committed a crime in Warsaw, was sentenced to one-to-three years in prison. He was convicted of driving while ability impaired by combined drugs and alcohol, a Class E felony.

Erin Cecere, who committed a crime in Wyoming County, appeared on a violation of probation. She is being held in the Wyoming County Jail without bail. The case has been adjourned to April 12.

Brandon Matteson, who committed a crime in Wyoming County, admitted to a violation of probation. He was restored back to probation supervision.

Ronald Sheehan, who committed a crime in Wyoming County, admitted to a violation of probation. The case has been adjourned to April 21. Bail was set at $10,00 cash or $20,000 bond.
