Michael J. Mead, 28, of Portageville, was charged Feb. 26 with driving while ability impaired by drugs, driving while ability impaired by the combined influence of drugs, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree, operating in violation of restrictions, and driver’s view obstructed. Mead was arrested following a traffic stop on Buffalo Road, near Route 19, Warsaw. Mead was stopped when police allegedly saw him driving with prior knowledge that he had a suspended driver’s license. He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for further investigation after prescription narcotics were allegedly found in his vehicle. Additionally, he is accused of failing standardized field sobriety testing and was subsequently evaluated by a drug recognition expert. It was allegedly determined that he was impaired by multiple drug categories. He is due in the Town of Warsaw Court March 14.
Justin A. Putney, 25, of Perry, was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated. Putney is accused of having a BAC of .18 percent or greater Feb. 20. He is due in the Leicester Town Court at a later date.
